Manes Got Me

Price: $7.99

Manes Got Me is our most deliberate blend, four ingredients that each earned their place, brewed so the sencha stays delicate and the mushroom doesn't turn savory.

Lion's mane grows in shaggy white cascades off hardwood in temperate forests across North America, Europe, and Asia; in Japan it's yamabushitake, named for mountain-dwelling monks. We use a hot-water extract of the fruiting body the actual mushroom, not mycelium grown on grain. Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) is a creeping marsh herb that has been part of Ayurvedic practice for well over a thousand years, named for Brahma himself. Sencha green tea brings brightness. Honeybush, a South African shrub from the Cape fynbos, is naturally sweet and faintly floral, and it rounds off brahmi's bitterness.

Wildflower honey ties it together — fuller and more assertive than a single-flower varietal, with enough body to hold its own against the roots and the mushroom.

Small-batch. Four botanicals, each one there for a reason.

Fuller and more complex than a single-flower honey. Enough body to stand up to the mushroom and the brahmi.

Meet the Founder

Tea was always something I enjoyed making since a teen. What got me into creating a brand around iced tea was back in 2024 when my doctor diagnosed me with pre-diabetes. Then I came across the keto diet after hearing how much it helped to heal people but when I started going around my community for a simple meal or snack I realized where the problem stemmed from.

Not yet. Right now you can find us here and at pop-ups around Brooklyn — follow @herbalgenz for locations. We're working toward shelves, and the fastest way to get us there is people asking their local shop for us. If you own a store or know one that should carry us, get in touch.

Three of the six. Summer Sorrel, Trust Your Elders, and Sip and Slump have no caffeine at all — they're built entirely from herbs and flowers rather than tea leaves. The other three sit around 30mg per can, about a third of a coffee, and it's all naturally occurring.

Raw honey in every can which is equivalent to 7 grams of sugar, and that's all of it. No cane sugar, no high-fructose corn syrup, no artificial sweeteners. For comparison, most bottled iced teas run 25–35 grams and a lot of energy drinks are higher. Ours is lightly sweetened on purpose; the herbs are supposed to be the point.
