Sip and Slump

Price: $7.99

Sip and Slump is our caffeine-free blend built entirely around herbs that have been part of evening rituals for centuries, and one mushroom that's been part of them for considerably longer.

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) has been grown in monastery gardens since the Middle Ages; crush a leaf and it smells like lemon and mint at once. Passionflower is native to the American Southeast, where it was used by Indigenous peoples long before European botanists named it for its flower's resemblance to the Passion. American skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) — verified species, never the substituted kind, is a North American mint-family plant with a long history in Appalachian herbalism. Reishi, lingzhi in China, appears in texts over two thousand years old as the "mushroom of immortality." Honeybush is the base, naturally sweet, no caffeine, ever.

Lavender-infused raw honey is the finish. Lavender and lemon balm belong to the same family and read the same way floral, soft, unmistakably evening.

Caffeine-free. Made for the part of the day nobody's paying you for.

Meet the Founder

Tea was always something I enjoyed making since a teen. What got me into creating a brand around iced tea was back in 2024 when my doctor diagnosed me with pre-diabetes. Then I came across the keto diet after hearing how much it helped to heal people but when I started going around my community for a simple meal or snack I realized where the problem stemmed from.

Not yet. Right now you can find us here and at pop-ups around Brooklyn — follow @herbalgenz for locations. We're working toward shelves, and the fastest way to get us there is people asking their local shop for us. If you own a store or know one that should carry us, get in touch.

Three of the six. Summer Sorrel, Trust Your Elders, and Sip and Slump have no caffeine at all — they're built entirely from herbs and flowers rather than tea leaves. The other three sit around 30mg per can, about a third of a coffee, and it's all naturally occurring.

Raw honey in every can which is equivalent to 7 grams of sugar, and that's all of it. No cane sugar, no high-fructose corn syrup, no artificial sweeteners. For comparison, most bottled iced teas run 25–35 grams and a lot of energy drinks are higher. Ours is lightly sweetened on purpose; the herbs are supposed to be the point.
